The long Easter weekend is an amazing time to get away from the tension stress in the office and enjoy some well-needed quality time with your loved ones. Here in Berlin, the weather makes it even more enjoyable as the sun is finally coming out and spring could not be more beautiful right now. Perfect for a nice easter egg hunt in the garden! But not all of us are blessed with a work free easter weekend. Some need to find time between the easter egg hunts, family dinners and easter fires to get shit done! In this post, I have put together some tips for you on how to stay productive on your day off. Let’s get started!
I get it. Everybody is brunching, looking for easter eggs and hanging out with their friends and family. The last thing you want to do on this long weekend is buckling down and work. But if you give yourself a certain time limit on when you need to get your work done it won’t be as unmotivating and draining. Depending on how big your tasks are you just set aside 2 to 3 hours a day to do your work. See, that doesn’t sound too bad, does it?
2. Cut down
You should ask yourself the following questions: „Can this only be done by me?“ „Does this need to be done today?“ Both a no? Cut it. This is the easter weekend and you need to make time for the three F’s: family, friends and fun. So if your tasks are not that pressing, trust me, they will be there on Tuesday.
3. Find a quiet spot
Easter is a holiday that lots of us spent with their families. If your family is anything like mine it can be hard to get any quiet moment in during the craziness to stay productive. But work comes first, so try and find a quiet room or corner where you can concentrate on your tasks. A great way to zone out and keep your sanity are noise-reduction headphones. You just put them on and feel your surroundings calm down. It also helps to tell the members of your family or your friends that you will need a certain amount of time with no interruptions. They will understand. And in the end, it works out for everybody because you will get your work done a lot faster thanks to full concentration.
I hope some of these tips can help you stay productive on your day off and also enjoy the easter holiday. If you find yourself in the Berlin area, check out the last post on how to spend the perfect easter sunday in Berlin! Whats your favorite thing about easter? Let’s chat in the comments!
