Since I’ve started to use the app Cocoppa to cutsy up my phone screen with personalized icons and backgrounds I have had a ton of people complimenting me on it and asking me how I did it. So I thought today would be perfect to demonstrate and tell you how you can pimp your phone screen with Cocoppa. But before we get started, a few disclaimers. This app is amazing but it can also be really time-consuming as you are scrolling to find the perfect matches for you. Also, I am not a phone wiz, so I will tell you about my experience with the App using the Samsung S6 but I can probably not help you if you have any technical issues with it. Just thought I’d get that out there.
Alright, let’s get started!
App Download & Sign Up
Cocoppa is available in the iTunes store for Apple devices as well as in the PlayStore if you have an Android phone or tablet. So just download it to your device and we can get cracking. After you have downloaded the app you will have to sign up. No worries, the account is FREE. But if you are somebody, who doesn’t want to put any personal information in an app, I get it. Although that means, that this app might not be right for you.
When you first get started with Cocoppa it might be a little confusing. There is so many different styles and patterns that it can be overwhelming. But don’t worry, we got this!
So the site opens up to the home screen, where you can see all new and trending designs that people have uploaded lately. Basically, the app provides you with designed icons, backgrounds, wallpapers and themes (backgrounds with already matching icons). I would encourage you to scroll through the home screen at first to get a feel fort he different designs.
Once you have conquered the home screen check out the next tab, which is called “Lounge”. This tab provides you with a bunch of different and cool themes. The good thing is that if you find a theme with amazing icons but you hate the wallpaper, you can always choose what you want to download and what not. But we will get to the download in a little bit.
For me personally, although I am a huge fan of pink and patterns, the themes are a little too much! Therefore, I like to search for specific icon designs that fit together. To do that, you click on the magnifier sign on the right-hand corner. It takes you to a site where you can choose the specific app that you want the icon for and you can also choose a color. I usually go with black or white, because I love to have a colorful background and well … those colors go with pretty much anything!
But let’s try it!
So say we need to find an icon for our Twitter app in black. We just choose our requirements and hit the search button.
Although we only chose the very boring color black, you can see that there are tons of different styles for your app here. So now it’s about scrolling and deciding (the hardest part, if you ask me).
The next and final step is the download of the design. Once you have done that, Cocoppa will ask you what app you want to attach your design to. You just select the right one and it will appear on the home screen of your phone.
Go check it out!
To give you an idea of how your screen could look here is my current phone screen. As far as I can remember the background is not out of the app but all the icons are. I chose white as a base color. It’s just so pretty and chic. I am in love.
I should tell you though, that the site is highly addicting. Trust me, once you’ve pimped your phone once, you will never go back to the plain icons. But if you have a little time on your hands and are like me and want to make your smartphone cute and personal, go for it! I can’t wait to hear what you think about it. Let’s chat in the comments.
